She devotes countless hours on drama productions, encourages kids to freely express themselves through dance as our dance teacher, and her English courses are a place where students share thoughts and ideas in a safe space. She has founded our school’s Alliance Club which promotes acceptance and among many other activities she takes kids on field trips afterschool and on weekends.
In her free time Laura has created a Twitter, Instagram and YouTube channel to equip teachers with resources. Ms. Garcia-Vega is undoubtedly the purest lover of this event called “life” and all things educationally-related. In her free time which can be found during school breaks or on weekends, she is heavily involved with her biological children, often taking pictures with them to capture the memories of the times she pours into them. She can be found hyping her students up for a great day each morning with songs, chants, body engagement with many of her instructional delivery techniques and participating in reflective practice to transform her methods. Her insatiable desire for students to truly learn at their own levels is unmatched.
